Draw a bridge. Then get over it.
We wrap shells of protection around our vulnerable peanut-y centers to keep us safe, shaped by our experiences and layered with defenses and fears. They help us survive but keep parts of us hidden - the worthy, resilient, true inner peanut - beneath the hardened armor.
Through art, reflection, and gentle exploration, we work to understand the shell you’ve built—and reconnect with the powerful, untouchable inner peanut that proves you are not your defenses. You are what’s within.
Introducing a unique, introspective tool for artists, journalers, and curious creatives.
An art therapist uses visual representation— like drawings - as a window into the subconscious mind, where many of our emotional patterns, beliefs, and unresolved experiences live below conscious awareness, hidden by defense mechanisms.
The image of a bridge in art therapy can be a symbolic expression of your unique way of managing transition, connection, and challenges.
When making art, especially spontaneously (like drawing a bridge), you access parts of the brain that aren’t governed by language and express inner experiences more honestly than words. It can reveal challenges, fears, or blocks between you and your ambitions and illuminate the ways you navigate life and change.
A comprehensive, insightful analysis of your drawing can assist in exploring new options, creating revised images, or building empowered narratives around your view of yourself and the world you live in. Often, the act of making the image is itself a form of transformation—moving stuck feelings or beliefs into motion.
This isn't therapy. It's a creative tool for growth, clarity, and emotional renewal.
It’s not about diagnosing—it’s about gently surfacing themes you might not even know are there, so they can be explored with curiosity and care. Use it as a springboard for journaling. A way through your blocks. A glimpse into what’s next.
DISCLAIMER: The basis of art therapy lies in the idea that creative expression can foster healing and mental well-being. It combines psychotherapy and the creative process to help individuals express and explore emotions, resolve inner conflicts, improve self-awareness, manage behavior, and enhance cognitive and social functioning. It’s not tarot cards. I’m not reading your future, just giving your perspective options, color, and ideas to run with and explore. If I say something you don’t agree with, you are right and I am wrong.
I wish you joy in your creative journey.
How it works:
Draw a bridge that goes from one side of a piece of paper to the other.
Have your bridge start somewhere, end somewhere, and go over something.
